Produce Packer Floor Drains

Floor drains across a produce packer's docks, processing areas and coolers were holding water. We cleared them overnight, after production, and put them on a schedule.

The Challenge

Floor drains at a Central Valley produce packing facility were holding water across the docks, processing areas and coolers.

Standing water on a production floor is a food-safety and slip problem, and the plant could not stop production to have it fixed.

What We Did

  1. Started at 7:30 PM, after production ended, and worked through every problem drain.
  2. Hydro-jetted each drain three to six times, then camera-inspected the lines to confirm they were clear.
  3. Pulled metal hardware out of the P-traps and blasted out concrete debris lodged in another line.
  4. Put the drains on a scheduled jetting program.

The Result

By the next scheduled visit, the catch basins held very little debris. Three lines are flagged for a camera inspection on a day those areas are shut down, so any damage is found before it backs up.
